Martelo came to me to design and produce him a personalised USB stick, as an essential tool of his trade. 

I think he had name or big letter M in mind, but I had other ideas..

 

Insight

DJs USB sticks stand upright at the very front of the decks so, although usually pretty small, they are a great branding opportunity.  Martelo has a particularly distinct and cartoonable look he's cultivated.

 

Solution 

Make a much larger than usual casing for the USB and in the form of cartoon 'Mini-Me' figurine with bobble head feature.

Execution

As this was for a one off, and I quite like working hands-on, the method of execution was to model the Mini-Me in two parts using 3D software with a void for the USB, send it to be 3D printed, assemble and hand paint.
